The design of the recessed glass opening on the underside prevents a view into the glass shade and thus minimizes the risk of glare from the light source. Another elegant detail: the curved upper side of the glass causes the suspension mechanism to disappear from view. Using the patented wire suspension system from Casablanca Leuchten, the mouth-blown glass shades are always held securely and perfectly level. Thanks to extensive accessories, the possible applications of the AIH pendant light are practically unlimited.

In search of the essential and surprisingly simple solutions, designer Michael Raasch creates high-quality and harmonious lighting collections in which all elements bear a signature and can be wonderfully combined with one another.

The appeal of the ALEVE luminaire series lies in the symbiosis of the two typical luminaire materials glass and textile. Both shapes - glass and textile shade - are archetypically conical and create a pleasant and interesting tension in their interplay. The glass protects the textile shade while the textile shade protects against glare from the light source and at the same time creates atmospheric diffuse lighting to the side and direct lighting upwards and downwards.

From the very beginning, Casablanca specialized in glass luminaires crafted by hand. Despite its focus on the material mouth-blown glass, Casablanca also creates contemporary lighting design using other materials; for example, handcrafted ceramics or environmentally friendly 3D printing from biomaterials. The glass shades are traditionally handcrafted by glassmakers according to old tradition. Through the demanding manufacturing process, each glass shade acquires its own character. Mouth-blown glass is a valuable, uniquely handcrafted work of art.
