The natural veining and hues of our bowl are crafted from exquisite onyx and evoke the timeless elegance of the museum's ancient creation. HISTORICAL ORIGIN The Memphite Bowl recalls the elegance of an Egyptian bowl from the Early Dynastic Period (2750-2649 BC). The original travertine piece, excavated from the tombs of Saqqara in Egypt, is an example of the ancient craftsmanship preserved by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
