The design of the recessed glass opening at the bottom prevents the glass shade from being seen, minimizing the risk of glare from the light source. Another elegant detail: the curved top of the glass makes the suspension mechanism disappear from view. First active as a photographer and photo designer, Dieter K. Weis designs luminaires since 1975. According to the principle \"form follows function\" applies to him that the luminaire form must inevitably serve the light.

The AIH series captivates with the timeless-modern shape of the elaborately mouth-blown glass shade from our traditional glassblowing workshop. The high-quality opal glass in white matt, white glossy, cream matt or cream glossy creates a pleasantly soft room light.

From the beginning, Casablanca specialized in the topic of handcrafted glass luminaires. Despite the focus on hand-blown glass as a material, Casablanca also manufactures contemporary luminaire design with other materials; for example, with artisanal ceramics or environmentally friendly 3D printing from biomaterials. The glasses are handcrafted by glassmakers according to ancient tradition. Through the demanding manufacturing process, each glass acquires its own character.
