Save energy - and protect the environment too?
Energy-saving lamps are artificial light sources that are similar to incandescent lamps, but convert less energy for the same brightness. Compact fluorescent lamps are often referred to as energy-saving lamps. Other more energy-efficient light sources include LEDs, high-pressure discharge lamps, or coated halogen lamps. In addition to the use of efficient light sources, high-quality luminaires with efficient reflectors and good cooling of any ballasts can also reduce the energy consumption of existing lighting systems Furthermore, the new illuminant regulation will remove the good old incandescent lamp from the market because its energy-benefit efficiency and cost are too high compared to the new energy-saving lamps. This law will come into effect on September 1, 2009.
