According to the EU's illuminant regulation, incandescent lamps are gradually being phased out. So far, this has been particularly hard on dull bulbs. Through a loophole, these matte incandescent lamps can still be sold - without any problems up to 100 watts. Shock-resistant incandescent lamps circumvent the EU regulation.
